Can makeup brushes cause breakouts? | EIGSHOW Beauty
Posted by EIGBEAUTY ADMIN
If you are like me, most mornings you are rushing trying to get ready and you simply apply what you can and get out of the house as quickly as possible. We do not think about our makeup brushes until the next day when we are rushing to get off to work or school again.
But could out makeup brushes be what is causing us to breakout?
The short answer is, yes.
But before you swear off makeup, and brushes altogether, let’s take a look at the reason why they cause these breakouts.
What are makeup brushes? They are tools used to apply cosmetics to our faces. They collect the makeup from their container and distribute them onto our faces.
While distributing the makeup onto our faces, they are also picking up debris that is on our skin such as dirt, oil, and dead skin.
If we do not clean them, this debris will continue to build up and be deposited onto our skin.
Most of us wash our faces daily however, yet neglect to clean what touches our faces on a daily basis.
There are two things you can do to solve this problem. First, you should clean your brushes.
Of course, there are also products that will clean your brushes but, the simplest and easiest way to clean your brushes is with baby shampoo and water. Once washed lay them on a clean towel to dry.
It is also important to wash, and dry, your face right before applying makeup. This will reduce the amount of debris that your brushes come in contact with, to begin with.
So again, if you’re like me and are busy and happen to forget to clean them one week, it is not the end of the world.
